R.W. HAMPTON FEATURED GUESTS ON CAMPFIRE CAFE
12:00 -1:00pm (CST)
Hosts Gary Holt and Bobbi Jean chat with guest multi-award winner singer, songwriter, performer and entertainer R.W. HAMPTON. A much loved returning guest, Gary selected a playlist that spans his career and asks R.W. to share the backstories of each song.
Growing up in a small Texas town, R.W. Hampton has drifted all across the American West, working cowboy jobs punching cattle, riding young colts, shoeing horses and even leading trail rides and guiding hunters in the high country, but perhaps his favorite was singing around the campfire while out with the wagon. Never glamorous, ranch work instilled in him a positive approach to life.
Hampton’s rich baritone voice brings an honest quality whether he’s performing live or on record. He writes and sings about what he knows and lives. Hampton’s music has earned numerous honors from such prestigious organizations as the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, The Academy of Western Artists and the International Western Music Association, which inducted him into their Hall of Fame in 2011.
For more on R.W. Hampton and his music, check out his website.

OCTOBER 29, 2020 THE WRITER'S BLOCK RADIO SHOW
SHOW #281 A CONVERSATION WITH JOHN DEDAKIS
Join hosts Jim Christina and Bobbi Jean for conversation with first time guest JOHN DEDAKIS. Journalist, novelist, and writing coach John DeDakis is a former Senior Copy Editor on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." DeDakis is the author of five novels in the Lark Chadwick mystery-suspense-thriller series. His fourth novel, BULLET IN THE CHAMBER, is the winner of Reviewer's Choice, Foreword INDIES, and Feathered Quill Book Awards.
His most recent novel, FAKE, is a winner of the 2020 Reviewers Choice Award. In FAKE, Lark is a White House correspondent dealing with "fake news" in the era of #MeToo. Popular First Lady Rose Gannon dies suddenly during an interview with White House Correspondent Lark Chadwick. Still reeling from the death of her photographer boyfriend, Lark is thrust into the midst of a media-bashing frenzy while covering a grieving president who's trying to defuse a looming nuclear war. An edge-of-the seat tale that seamlessly blurs the line between fact and fiction, FAKE gives a real-life look behind the scenes at the ethical struggles of a female journalist in a #MeToo world, walking the line between personal feelings and dispassionate objectivity - trying to discern the difference between what's real...and what's fake.
DeDakis, a former White House correspondant, regularly teaches novel writing at literary centers, writers' conferences, and bookstores around the country.
The Writer's Block Radio Show airs on LA Talk Radio. Airs live every Thursday on LA Talk Radio: 6pm (PST), 7pm (MT), 8pm (CST), 9pm (EST).
